Porichoy was started by a small team of Bengali engineers, designers and product builders who watched their own siblings, cousins and friends struggle through a matchmaking process that hadn't kept up with how families actually live today. Generic matrimonial sites were full of fake profiles. Dating apps treated marriage as an afterthought. And quietly, the deepest anxieties of Bengali families — trust, dignity, family involvement — were being ignored.
We believe a marriage decision deserves more care than a swipe. We believe parents are partners in the search, not obstacles. We believe verification is the floor, not a feature. And we believe Bengali culture — its language, its rituals, its quiet humour — should run through the experience instead of being bolted on at the edges.
Every Porichoy profile is verified by ID, education or profession. Every introduction is structured — no cold messages. Families can be added to an account and see relevant profiles too. Photos and contact details stay private until you choose to share them. And our Bengali translation is real, not an afterthought — every screen in the app works fully in Bengali.
We're a small but growing team based between Kolkata, Bengaluru and the diaspora. Our engineering team has shipped products for some of India's largest consumer companies.
